Current Topics in Biosciences Management

This course aims to explore trends driving the life sciences industry. Classes involve the identification and discussion of major scientific breakthroughs. The class forms teams to engage in a semester-long project evaluating one industrial trend each. My team evaluated new trends within the nutraceuticals industry. 

My team also evaluated a case study published by Harvard entitled "Microsoft: Focusing on the Healthcare Vertical" in which we made recommendations on how Microsoft could build trust with its consumers in order to implement its AI solutions. 

Research Methods in Marketing

This course examines a systematic approach to structure, implementation, and analysis of marketing research for decision making with a focus on the customer as well as their wants and needs for developing promotional marketing campaigns, developing new products, and refining current product offerings and for improving customer service efforts. Students also analyze appropriate consumer and firm behavior models within a marketing context.

Legal, Regulatory, and Ethical Issues in Life Sciences Industries

This course centers on practical issues that help students become effective business managers in the life sciences industry. Detailed analyses of Phase I-IV clinical trials, 510(k) and PMA steps, and other roles of the FDA; pharmaceutical sales; management issues; market identification; and the IP/patent process are some of the topics covered. The course will also discusses off-label usage and social issues such as ethics and corporate social responsibility.

Consumer Behavior

This course examines consumer perception of products and brands, including the role of product design and development of consumer attitudes. Students analyze how consumers make decisions and how those decisions can be influenced by messaging, pricing, and emotions.
